General Rental Terms and House Rules – Holiday Homes in Gran Canaria
Welcome to my holiday homes in Gran Canaria. I am happy to host you and will do everything I can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. To ensure everything runs smoothly and fairly, I have set out the following rental terms and house rules. By making a reservation, you agree to these conditions.
1. Applicability
These general conditions apply to all reservations, bookings, and stays in my accommodations in Gran Canaria. By making a reservation, you confirm that you agree with these terms.
2. Reservation and Payment Conditions
At the time of booking, a deposit of 50% of the total amount is required.
The remaining amount (50%) must be paid no later than 60 days before arrival.
Bookings can be made via my website, by e-mail (hello@ilsewissink.com), or through recognized booking platforms.
The booking is only confirmed once the deposit has been received.
For bookings made within 60 days before arrival, the full amount must be paid immediately.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations more than 60 days before arrival: no charges.
Cancellations within 60 days before arrival: 100% of the rental fee will be charged.
Early departure or no-show: no refund will be given.
3. Check-in and Check-out Times
Check-in: from 3:00 PM.
Exception: Finca Horno de la Teja from 4:00 PM.
Check-out: by 11:00 AM.
Exception: Finca Horno de la Teja by 10:00 AM.
Other times are only possible with prior agreement and written confirmation.
Upon arrival, you must present a valid passport or ID card for the mandatory legal registration.
4. Use of the Accommodation
I kindly ask you to treat the house and surroundings with care and respect.
Quiet hours: from 10:00 PM, to ensure rest for neighbours and other guests.
No parties: parties, events, or loud music are not allowed without my express permission.
Only the registered guests may stay overnight and use the facilities.
External service providers (such as catering, chefs, entertainers) are only allowed with my prior consent.
5. Cleanliness and Maintenance
The property will be delivered clean and in good condition.
Final cleaning is charged separately and specified in the booking confirmation.
Please take out the rubbish and do not leave dirty dishes behind.
Furniture must not be moved outside.
Insects and small animals such as mosquitoes, ants, lizards, and cockroaches are common in this climate and part of Gran Canaria’s nature. They are not considered a defect of the property.
6. Swimming Pool and Safety
The pool is treated with chlorine and other products; use is always at your own risk.
Children must always be supervised by an adult when using the pool.
I am not responsible for accidents or injuries related to the use of the pool.
Please use the lighting, parasols, and air conditioning according to the instructions (see house rules).
7. Deposit and Damages
A security deposit will be charged on your card on the arrival day.
The deposit will be refunded 60 days after departure, once the property has been checked.
Any damages, lost keys, or insufficient cleaning will be deducted from the deposit.
8. Cancellations, Changes, and Force Majeure
Changes to dates or number of guests are only possible with my approval.
In cases of force majeure (natural disasters, pandemics, technical failures beyond my control), I may offer alternative accommodation or cancel the booking.
In such cases, the rental amount already paid will be refunded, but no further compensation will be due.
9. Liability
My accommodations are private holiday homes and not hotels. This means that furnishings, comfort, and surroundings may vary from house to house. Renovations or construction work may also take place nearby, which I cannot control or be held responsible for.
I am not liable for loss, theft, injury, or damage during your stay.
Taking out travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Interruptions in water, electricity, internet, or external noise disturbances are beyond my responsibility.
10. Pets and Smoking Policy
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement, with a supplement of €50 per stay.
Smoking is only allowed outside, provided it does not disturb neighbours or other guests.
11. House Rules – Holiday Homes in Gran Canaria
To ensure a pleasant and safe stay, I kindly ask you to follow these rules:
- Dispose of rubbish and bottles in the designated containers (separated recycling).
- Use water and electricity sparingly (tap water is not drinkable).
- Do not switch on the pool lighting during the day.
- Use air conditioning only with doors/windows closed, and not below 21–23°C.
- Close parasols when leaving the house, at night, or in strong wind.
- Bring in outdoor cushions in case of rain.
- Only use the fixed BBQ. From May 1st to October 31st, Spanish law prohibits portable barbecues.
- Always lock doors and windows to prevent burglary.
- Do not change the TV or satellite settings yourself.
- No parties or loud music – police fines are the guest’s responsibility.
12. Bookings and Reservation Systems
Reservations are securely processed through my online booking system. After making a reservation, you will always receive an official confirmation by e-mail. If you book via platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com or other providers, the terms and conditions of those platforms also apply.
Privacy Policy
I value your privacy and handle your personal data with care. When you make a reservation or contact me, I only ask for the information needed to manage your stay (such as name, contact details, and booking information).
Use of your data
Your data is used exclusively for:
- processing reservations and payments,
- complying with the legal guest registration requirement in Spain,
- communication regarding your stay.
Sharing of data
I only share your data with third parties when strictly necessary, such as with my booking system, booking platforms (Airbnb, Booking.com), or Google Analytics for website statistics.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, as well as to object to its use or withdraw your consent at any time. Please contact me at hello@ilsewissink.com for this.
